Questions
Straight answers.
How accurate is this?
It is a rough range for a typical full replacement. Your real price depends on your roof, so we give you an exact price after a free inspection.
Does the price include tear-off?
Yes. The range is for tearing off the old roof and putting on a new Owens Corning roof system.
What if insurance is paying?
Insurance claims are priced from the adjuster estimate, so this tool does not apply. We meet your adjuster at the house. See hail and wind damage.
How do you estimate gutters?
We estimate the length of your roof edges from your home size. A gable roof usually needs gutters on 2 sides, and a hip roof needs them all the way around. 5 inch gutters with 2x3 downspouts run about $12 a foot, and 6 inch gutters with 3x4 downspouts about $14 a foot, for both the gutter and the downspout. Bulldog gutter guards add about $9.50 a foot and LeafBlaster Pro about $11.50 a foot.
Which shingle do you recommend?
For most homes we recommend Owens Corning Duration. It is a thick, Class 3 impact-rated shingle with a great price for what you get. If you want the top hail rating, Duration STORM and Duration FLEX are Class 4, and some insurance companies give a discount for Class 4.
